Tabb desperate to sign new Reading contract

London: The midfielder has been with the club since 2009 after spells with Brentford and Coventry City, and is hoping to extend his stay beyond the summer when his current deal expires.
Reading’s Jay Tabb is still harbouring the hope that he will be offered a new contract before the end of the season, with his current deal expiring in just under six months. The 28-year-old has been at the Madejski Stadium since signing from Coventry in 2009 and after being a peripheral figure at the Madejski stadium last season, has made 12 starts in the Premier League this term. Recent reports suggested Tabb had been offered a new deal, however he has since rubbished those claims but re-affirmed that he is desperate to stay with the club. He told talk SPORT: "Talk of a contract being offered is news to me, nothing has been said or offered yet. "I love the club and want to stay but my contract is up in six months and I am not really sure what’s happening. "All I can and will do is keep giving my all when given the opportunity and then we’ll see what happens." Goal.Com
