New Delhi: Bengaluru FC will eye for successive victories in I-League as manager Ashley Westwood will look to churn out an impressive performance against Shillong Lajong FC. Westwood knows the importance of a win at home in the Kanteerava stadium that will keep the defending champions in the mix amongst the top clubs in the table.

Bengaluru have just seven points from five games but their performances have been good in the last two matches and Westwood was quick to acknowledge the fact.

Westwood stated on Friday that the momentum is with the Fed Cup champions as they have found the net and kept clean sheets as well.

Westwood's comments were posted by the official Twitter handle of Bengaluru FC.

The manager also spoke highly of the opponent team. He stated the importance of key players in their side and added that their position in the table gives a false impression. Lajong lie on 8th position in the table and have picked up just three points from four games. Though they have played a match lesser than Bengaluru.

On the club's new signing Eugeneson Lyngdoh, Westwood added a lot of praise. Lyngdoh netted in the winner for Bengaluru in the previous match against Bharat FC and is becoming a vital addition for the Blues. Lyngdoh has scored thrice already in the I-League this season and has been pivotal in Westwood's plans.

Westwood cited the importance of Lyngdoh saying about his good feet and composure. He acknowledged his presence in the team.

Meanwhile midfield engine Thoi Singh also joined Westwood in the press conference. The midfielder who has been utilised in a number of positions by Westwood, acknowledged the fact how he has been finding it as a challenge to adjust.

Singh who has registered two goals for the club this term, wants to add his name to the tally.
