Subroto Cup: Northeastern teams on roll, Delhi all but out

New Delhi: Manipur's Bijang Loubuk Junior crushed Shri Ram School (Delhi-NCR) 8-1 while Nakachar Hr Sec School (Assam) defeated Maharana Pratap Sports College, Uttarakhand 6-0 in the Sub-Junior 56th Subroto Cup Football Tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Sunday.

Similarly, the team from NSS MP Shikshya Niketan (Odisha) beat Govt High School (Haryana) 6-0 to earn full points.

For the Manipur school, their hero was Mangmin Thang, who netted five goals.

As for the Odisha team, Haryana were no match to their opponents D Sanjay scored the maximum (3 goals) for the winners while Haryana were mute spectators.

In other matches, Sports Hostel, Nagaland beat Air Force Bal Bharti School 6-0, match ended in tie between NCC, Delhi & The Air Force School, Subroto Park, Delhi scores being 0-0, Farook Hr Secondary School, Kerala beat Govt Senior Secondary School, Lakshwadeep 4-0, Sai northeast regional centre beat Gujarat 7-0, Jatragachi Pranabandana High School, West Bengal Beat Maharshtra 6-0, BS +2 High School, Jharkhand beat Atul Vidyalaya, Gujarat 10-0.
