Rio Olympics: After Yogeshwar Dutt, Milkha Singh too hits out at Salman Khan's appointment as Goodwill Ambassador

New Delhi: Sprint legend Milkha Singh on Sunday followed wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt is his criticism of Salman Khan's appointment as a Goodwill Ambassafor for India's Rio Games contingent.

"IOA has taken wrong decision. We don't need any ambassador. Sportsmen representing nation in Rio Olympics 2016 are our ambassadors. IOA shouldn't have made a Bollywood person ambassador for sports event. Will they make a sports person an ambassador for Bollywood function? Govt must intervene. IOA must reconsider its decision. If at all there is a need to send an ambassador, I think P. T. Usha, Rajvardhan Singh Rathore, Ajit Pal can be better choices," Singh told ANI.

Dutt on Saturday slammed the appointment of the Bollywood superstar, questioning Khan's contribution to sports in India.

Dutt stated that legendary athletes like PT Usha and Milkha Singh would have been better choices for this role.

Yogeshwar hinted that Salman's main intention was to promote his upcoming film 'Sultan', adding that Olympic Games was not the platform to do the same.
