Raunchiest Olympics ever: Record number of condoms for 2016 Rio athletes

New Delhi: World athletes started arriving in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday for the 2016 Olympics even as Australia boycotted the Games Village.

Australian contingent called the Village at in the Barra da Tijuca district in the west of Rio de Janeiro "simply not safe or ready".

However, Rio Games may well become the most promiscuous, raunchiest Olympics in history with some 450,000 condoms, including 100,00 female condoms, already allocated for the athletes.

It's reported that there will also be 175,000 packets of lubricant available at the Olympic Village.

And this distribution is three times higher than the London 2012 allowance of 150,000 condoms.

Despite all their all-out efforts, Olympics organisers continue to face criticism , with the Australia boycott being the latest.

"Problems include blocked toilets, leaking pipes, exposed wiring, darkened stairwells where no lighting has been installed and dirty floors in need of a massive clean," the head of the Australian team, Kitty Chiller, said in a statement.

Brazil have built a 31-building complex to house more than 18,000 athletes and staffs for the Rio Games.
