Former world No.1 tennis player Jennifer Capriati was rushed to hospital after paramedics responded to a call for a possible overdose.

The call came from a hotel in Riviera Beach, Florida, following which the 34-year-old was transported to a nearby hospital, the TMZ reported. Her father told TMZ that she was "recovering well".The US teen prodigy became a favourite of Melbourne when she won two Australian Open titles in succession in 2001 and 2002, beating Martina Hingis in both finals, The Herald Sun reports. She also won the 2001 French Open along with the women`s singles gold medal at the 1992 Olympics. After turning professional at the age of 13, she won 14 singles titles and one doubles title.Struggling with the pressures of the professional tour, Capriati took a break from competitive tennis in late 1993 before returning with great success. She was arrested for marijuana possession in May 1994. ANI
