New Delhi: Indian doubles specialist Rohan Bopanna and his partner Florin Mergea of Romania have entered the quarterfinals of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters.

The sixth-seeded pair defeated Robert Lindstedt of Sweden and Alexander Peya of Austria in straight sets 7-5 7-5, which took just under one and half hour.

In the first set, the Indo-Romanian team broke their rivals three times, even though themselves lost the serves twice. The second set, however, remained a tightly contested affair with the break coming as late as the 12th game, in favour of the sixth-seeded players.

Bopanna and Mergea will next take on fourth-seeded pair of Jamie Murray of Britain and Bruno Soares of Brazil.
