Sandeep Tomar wins silver, Narsingh Yadav bags bronze in Spanish GP

Madrid: Rio-bound Indian grapplers, Sandeep Tomar and Narsingh Yadav won the silver and bronze medals in 74kg and 57kg respectively at the Spanish Grand Prix Wrestling championship here on Saturday.

In the 74kg category, Livan Lopez of Cuba and Zelimkhan Khadjiev of France won the gold and silver medal respectively, while Purevjav?Unurbat of Mongolia also won the bronze apart from Narsingh.

Narsingh beat Canada wrestler Jasmit Phulka 7-0 in first round and then lost to Livan Lopez in second round but then got a repechage when the Cuban reached the finals.

In 57kg category, Erdenebat Bekhbayar of Mongolia won the gold and Darthe Capellan of Canada and Levan-Metreveli of Spain won the bronze medals.

However, London Olympics bronze medallist Yogeshwar Dutt failed to impress and returned empty handed after losing 2-8 to Cuba's Yowlys?Bonne, who won the bronze medal, in the 65kg category here.
