Fans return to stadium for 1st time since March during Brighton's friendly tie

After a long hiatus owing to coronavirus, Fans returned to an EPL stadium for the first time since March when Chelsea and Brighton played a pre-season friendly match. As many as 2,500 supporters witnessed the match between Chelsea and Brighton which ended in a 1-1 draw. 2019-2020 season of the Premier League had resumed in June but the remaining matches were played behind closed doors to avoid the spread of coronavirus.

COVID-19 pandemic: Brighton to host friendly against Chelsea with spectators

The pre-season friendly will be staged as a pilot event with 2,500 spectators to be welcomed at Amex Stadium. Brighton's friendly with Chelsea on Saturday will be the first football match being played as a pilot event in England. The 2020-21 season of the Premier League will start the new season on September 12.
