Parents kill daughter for talking to boys in Telangana

Hyderabad: The Telangana Police have arrested a couple for allegedly killing their daughter for being friendly with boys. According to the police, the 13-year-old girl was first strangled and then burnt by her parents in a bid to pass off the death as suicide.

The father reportedly saw the girl talking to one of her classmates on Tuesday, and later asked her about the same. In a fit of rage, he started beating up the girl, and strangled her.

After realising that their daughter was no more, they set her body on fire to escape the consequences.

The victim was a student of class 7 at a government school in Theededu village of Telangana.

The parents have been sent to judicial custody by a local court. The teen's father has reportedly confessed to the crime.
