'Pehredaar Piya Ki' team to make a stronger comeback on television soon?

New Delhi: Ever since 'Pehredaar Piya Ki' was launched, it was marred by controversies. The unconventional story-line was a little too 'bold' and unconvincing for people to digest. It was called 'regressive' by some social media users and in spite of shifting the program to a late night spot (as directed by Broadcasting Content Complaints Council), it was pulled off the air by the broadcasting channel.

After all the chaos, the showmakers are still hopeful of making a stronger comeback. In fact, 'Pehredaar Piya Ki' team will be retained for the next venture.

"We treat audience as an asset so we don't want to lose them. We will return with a new show and the same team very soon. In fact, we have started working on the same. The next show will have a better story. The actors will be with us till then," producer Sumeet Mittal told TimesofIndia.com.

The serial, which began airing on the channel last month, attracted the audience's ire over its content, which showed a nine-year old boy (Afaan Khan) married to an 18- year-old woman (Tejasswi Prakash). Soon, people started accusing the makers of 'promoting child marriage'.

An online petition was also launched against the show, which was signed by over a lakh people, urging the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to ban it.
