Two children dead, 20 injured in stampede at elementary school in Central China's Henan Province

Beijing: At least two children died and more than 20 others were injured during a stampede at an elementary school bathroom Wednesday in Central China's Henan Province.

The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. when a crowd of students began shoving to enter a bathroom at Puyang No. 3 experimental elementary school, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

The Puyang county government rushed the injured students to local hospitals for treatment.

Though the cause of the stampede is still under investigation, a net user claiming to be a parent at the school said the deadly human wave for the door was sparked after the bathroom's exterior wall collapsed, The Beijing News reported (ANI)
