Will Deepika Padukone star in the remake of a Sridevi film? Here's what we know

New Delhi: The much talented Deepika Padukone won our hearts in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmaavat'. The movie, after much delay, released in January this year and was surely worth the wait. Deepika played the role of queen Padmavati in the film while Shahid Kapoor played Maharawal Ratan Singh. Ranveer Singh played the role of Allaudin Khilji in the period-drama. Ever since the release of 'Padmaavat', Deepika had not signed any new film.

Now, as per reports, Deepika might star in a remake of a hit Sridevi film.

As per a DNA report, the Padmaavat actress has been offered the remake of a Sridevi film which was made nearly four decades ago.

A source told DNA, “ The original Sridevi film was made by a producer from the South and directed by a Bollywood director. However, talks are on to procure the rights and remake it with Deepika.”

The source further added that nobody is willing to talk about the subject as there are a lot of modalities involved as of now. The talks have just been introduced but Deepika's name is known to be in it.

Deepika's personal life has also been making headlines these days as the actress will reportedly tie the knot in November with Ranveer Singh. The two have remained tight-lipped about their relationship status but their time-to-time PDA, as well as comments on social media, show that there is more than what meets the eye.
