Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes to divorce

New Delhi: He had once upon a time jumped on a couch to profess his love for her on national television. But the fairytale romance between Tom Cruise and his actress wife Katie Holmes has officially ended as the couple have decided to file for divorce. According to ‘People’ magazine, the news was confirmed by Katie’s attorney Jonathan Wolfe. "This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie`s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter`s best interest," Wolfe was quoted as saying. The couple got married in a lavish ceremony in Italy in 2006 and have a daughter together, 6 year old Suri. One of Hollywood’s biggest star, Cruise, 49, was previously married to actress Mimi Rogers and actress Nicole Kidman with whom he has two children. Holmes, 33, rose to fame on US television series ‘Dawson`s Creek’ and has worked in big-budget movies such as ‘Batman Begins.’ Her marriage to Cruise is her first.
