Katy Perry plans to adopt Russell`s surname

London: Pop star Katy Perry is in the process of adopting her husband Russell Brand`s surname.

The `California Gurls` hitmaker exchanged vows with the British comedian in October in India and now wants to be called `Mrs. Brand`, a website reported. "I am, actually. When people try to get my attention, like if I`m at an event or something like that, and they want special attention, they go, `Mrs. Brand!` And I go shwoosh!," Perry said. The 26-year-old singer also joked that actress Helen Mirren, who stars alongside Brand in two new films, `The Tempest` and `Arthur` is "very jealous" of her marrying the former lothario. "Yeah, she needs to step off my man. Actually I kind of don`t mind that someone else takes some of the responsibility because it`s a lot of work," she added. PTI
