Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone, MIUI 8 to be launched today

New Delhi: Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is all set to launch its much anticipated device, the Mi Max smartphone in India in Thursday.

Launched in May in China, the Mi Max will see the light of the day in India on Thursday at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

The event is scheduled to start at 11:30 am IST.

50,000 Mi fans are said to have registered for the 2016 Mi Product launch event.

A 6.44-inch touchscreen display device, the Mi Max comes with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 342 pixels per inch.

Considering its size, the Mi Max weighs 203 gms.

It runs on Android Marshmallow with MIUI 8 which will be launched along with the device.

As for spefications, the Xiaomi Mi Max will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM.

It will come with 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.

As for cameras, the Mi Max packs a 16MP primary camera on the rear and a 5MP front shooter for selfies.

It is powered by a 4850mAh non removable battery.
