The rupee wiped off early gains against the dollar today, slipping 6 paise to 65.51, following fresh spell of month-end dollar demand from importers and banks and a higher greenback overseas.

Shares of ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company made a tepid debut at bourses today, falling nearly 2 per cent from the issue price of Rs 661.
The stock listed at Rs 650, down 1.66 per cent against the issue price on the BSE. It later slipped 3.45 per cent to hit a low of Rs 638.15.

Sensex falls by 153.39 points or 0.49 percent to 31,446.37.
The 50-share NSE Nifty went closer to 9,800 level, down 50.85 points or 0.52 percent at 9,820.65.

U.S. crude for November delivery rose 28 cents, or 0.5 percent, to $52.16, having settled down 0.7 percent after hitting a five-month high of $52.43 in the previous session.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up 0.44 per cent while Shanghai Composite gained 0.05 per cent. Japan's Nikkei, however, shed 0.29 per cent.
The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended lower by 0.05 per cent yesterday.

Maruti Suzuki surged the most among Sensex components, gaining 0.85 per cent, followed by PowerGrid (0.71 per cent).
Other gainers included Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, TCS, HDFC Bank and M&M, rising by up to 0.64 per cent.
However, telecom segment stocks such as Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Reliance Communication were under pressure and fell by up to 1.05 per cent.

The Sensex of the BSE after opening at 31,785.24 points and touched a high of 31,797.46 points and a low of 31,618.78 points.
The Sensex is trading at 31,674.30 points up by 74.54 points or 0.24 per cent.
On the other hand, the broader 51-scrip Nifty at National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 9,920.60 points after closing at 9,871.50 points.
The Nifty is trading at 9,880.35 points in the morning.
