Mumbai: Divyendu Sharma, who plays one of the friends in ‘Chashme Baddoor’ remake, says the first scene of the original film is his favourite one.
Director David Dhawan has revisited 1981-cult buddy film ‘Chashme Buddoor’, which had a fair dose of romance and comedy. Farooque Sheikh had played the central character in it.
In the remake, hitting theatres April 5, Divyendu will reprise the role played by Rakesh Bedi, the poet, while Siddharth steps into Ravi Baswani`s shoes. Ali Zafar is the main lead and Taapsee plays the role essayed by Deepti Naval in Sai Paranjpye`s directorial venture.
"My best moment of the original one is the first scene where a cigarette is being passed on without seeing each other. Farooque Sheikh is reading a book, the other two are also doing their work and without seeing each other they are passing the cigarette," the 29-year-old said here Tuesday at a college where he was promoting the film.
"Farooque Sheikh gets it last. He is sitting in a manner that the cigarette is put between his toes, the feet goes up and he picks it up and takes a drag. That tells you so much about the chemistry in the very first shot of the film. You get to know what kind of friends they are, you don`t need to explain anything," he added.
