India's Industrial growth recovers to 2% in February Vs -1.5% in January
The General Index for the month of February 2016 stands at 184.6, which is 2 percent higher as compared to the level in the month of February 2015.

New Delhi: India's Industrial Production (IIP) grew by 2 percent in February as compared to -1.5 percent in January, the data released by the Central Statistics Office said on Tuesday.
The General Index for the month of February 2016 stands at 184.6, which is 2 percent higher as compared to the level in the month of February 2015.
The cumulative growth for the period April-February 2015-16 over the corresponding period of the previous year stands at 2.6 percent.
The mining sector showed a significant improvement, registering a growth of 5 percent in the month as against 1.6 percent in same month a year ago however the manufacturing sector showed huge contraction of 0.7 percent as compared to 5.1 percent a year ago.
Power generation showed acceleration, recording a growth of 9.6 percent as against 5.9 percent growth in same month a year ago.
