Washington: Bradley Cooper, who has been named Sexiest Man Alive of 2011 by People magazine, has said that his pal Ryan Gosling is more deserving of the title.
The Hangover hunk admits Gosling is a rightful ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ as the Canadian actor always looks groomed.
“It’s so awful that I’m admitting this but the hell with it - there was such a backlash to when they announced it,” Contactmusic quoted the 36-year-old as telling U.K. talk show host Graham Norton.
“Ryan Gosling, who I love and I just did a movie with him, he’s the greatest, but we were both in Paris this last week and a friend of mine showed me photographs (of us) from the paparazzi.
“When I say friend I mean me alone in my room looking at the computer!
“There’s him walking around and he literally looks like he’s in a photoshoot, like he just came off the runway.
“And there’s ones of me and I literally look like the neighbour who never really comes out of his house.
“And when he does you’re like, ‘Maybe he should just stay in! We don’t know what he does in there!’ So it’s been interesting.
Cooper admits that he is still coming to terms with all the adulation.
“It’s the worst! It’s just so awful.
“I’m finally at an age, I’m 36 years old, where I really don’t care about anything like that anymore, which is a wonderful thing.
“Then this (People magazine title) happened and I started to realise how not sexy I am.
“I have a lot of moments where I’ll be walking out, I open up the door and think, ‘I could do that a lot sexier. That was not very sexy at all!’” he added.
