New Delhi: Masayoshi Son, CEO of Softbank, on Saturday gave a thumps-up to PM Modi's 'Start-up India' campaign and said it was the beginning of Big Bang for Indian economy.
Every market is different, I truly think this (Start-up India) is really the beginning of Big Bang for India, the Softbank CEO said.
Addressing the conference at the inauguration of the campaign at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, Masayoshi Son also said the Japanese telecom and media group would "seriously" accelerate its investments in India.
"I think we would seriously accelerate our investments in India going forward”, he said.
We have already invested USD 2 billion in Indian firms; will scale up investment to USD 10 billion, he added.
He also said with the start-ups, India can be bigger in momentum than China in next 10 years.
The 21st century belongs to India, he said.
With regards to its investment in India, the Softbank founder and CEO said it would not the be technology that it backs but that it would invest in companies that use technology to disrupt businesses.
