Mumbai: Katrina Kaif’s debut film ‘Boom’ made headlines for all the wrong reasons and did more harm than good to the then debutante’s Bollywood career. It was Salman Khan, who had helped her resurrect her career as an actress and since then, the lady has not looked back. Talking to a daily, Katrina clears her much speculated relationship status and her current standing in the world of showbiz. She said, “I am single. Our (hers and Salman’s) equation is very different today and I believe that exes can be great friends.” Though the lady credits Salman for helping her evolve as one of the most sought after actresses in the industry, she believes that she is what she is not ‘only’ because of his guidance. She said, “I believe in destiny, God’s hand and hard work. The audience has accepted me. But it’s also true that I’ve known Salman for eight years. He’s helped me as a person. His presence in my life was for guidance and, straightforward and simple views. He has immense knowledge of the industry and this is where he helped me from going astray.” But added, “Yes, I owe him gratitude, but it’s unfair to say I would have not got a break without Salman. In this industry, everyone has people in their lives to help them in the beginning. Salman was helped by Sooraj Barjatya. And Salman also helped Sneha Ullal and Zarine Khan.”
