Freida Pinto thrilled with Indian influence in Chanel

Washington: Freida pinto has revealed that she loves how Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld is inspired by her native country, India.

Although the 27-year-old actress often prefers wearing traditional saris for special occasions, she is thrilled to find that the 78-year-old designer is hugely inspired by India when he designs for the French fashion house. “To be honest saris are still what we choose when we dress up. But more and more Indian women are becoming fans of Chanel. I have worn it several times and often go for the Indian-influenced things,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling Britain’s Grazia magazine. “People don’t often talk about the Indian motifs in Karl’s collections, but I wore a sari-inspired dress in 2010 and feel that the theme is often there in his work,” she added.
