Los Angeles: Actress Pamela Anderson was left disappointed after a politician declined her offer to visit an animal rights event.
Anderson, 45, had written a letter to Christine Quinn, the speaker of New York City Council and asked her if the latter would be interested in coming to a campaign gala in the Big Apple Oct 23 and hear a proposal to replace central parks horse drawn carriages into cars, reports a website.
However, Quinn wrote a letter back to her saying: "Unfortunately, due to prior commitments, I won`t be able to join you... I know you care very deeply about the safety and well-being of these horses... the NYC Council and I do, too." The actress has been actively involved in saving animals. She is an active member of People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (PETA) and also held protests against seal hunting in Canada. IANS
