Los Angeles: Lionsgate distribution president Steve Rothenberg died Thursday in Burbank after a months-long battle with stomach cancer. He was 50.During more than 10 years at Lionsgate, Rothenberg guided the release of films with combined box office sales of almost $2 billion, including such releases as Michael Moore`s "Fahrenheit 9/11," the lucrative "Saw" horror pictures and the equally profitable Tyler Perry comedies. The New York native began his career working for indie filmmaker Roger Corman.
Rothenberg is survived by his wife and three children. A memorial service will be held noon Tuesday at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles. Bureau Report
