Facebook unveils its virtual assistant 'M'

New Delhi: Social media giant Facebook has created a virtual assistant 'Facebook M' powered by artificial intelligence that can do everything.

While using the virtual assistant through messenger, users can purchase items, get gifts delivered to your loved ones, book restaurants, make travel arrangements, set up appointments and many other things.

Rival services such as Apple Inc's Siri, Google Inc's Google Now and Microsoft Corp's Cortana rely entirely on technology to answer questions.

'M' is trained and supervised by a team of contractors at Facebook, who will oversee more complex requests until the assistant becomes smarter and who can add the odd, more personal surprise touch.
