Mumbai Indians

160/5(19.1 Overs)

We are back for Mumbai's reply. The Delhi players are out in the middle. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan are the openers for Mumbai.

... THE CHASE...

It was the stand between Pant and Powell which has got them here! Axar too played a handy cameo down the order but it is the two above who got Delhi out of trouble. They were reeling at 50-odd for 4 after the halfway mark. Powell and Pant though played sensibly. They upped the ante as the game went ahead. However, both fell at the wrong time or 170 would have been possible. Axar though has taken them to a really competitive total.

Now then, the equation is simple, if Delhi defend this, they make it through, if they don't, Bangalore are through. The wicket is slow and they do have the bowlers to defend this but early wickets is what they need. Can they do it or will Mumbai do Bangalore a favor? We will find out soon. Stay tuned for the chase...

Jasprit Bumrah is up for a quick chat. He says it feels good to execute the plans which he looked to do. Adds that he doesn't think about wickets much and just looks to enjoy his bowling and wickets will come. Mentions that yes, he does love picking up wickets but more than that he loves bowling. Adds that Marsh's wicket was his favorite tonight and it is always good when a plan comes through. Says that the wicket is a bit two-paced and it's not a typical wicket and early on, they looked if the

Mumbai were brilliant with the ball first up but they will be very disappointed with the overs in the second half. After the first 10, they would have been thinking of chasing something around 145 but some poor fielding and bowling have seen Delhi get close to 160. The overs from Ramandeep could cost Mumbai the game and despite having Riley Meredith in the bank, Rohit went with the local boy.

Delhi will be very pleased they have got really close to the 160-run mark. At one stage that seemed far away and by what we have seen so far, they have a score which is probably par on this surface.

Ramandeep Singh to Axar Patel, Leg bye! A length ball, slanting around middle and leg. Patel looks to swing across but misses and gets hit on the pads. A huge appeal but nothing given and Mumbai take the review. UltraEdge shows nothing and Ball Tracking shows wickets hitting but was the umpire's call. A leg bye taken in the process. Delhi end at 159/7.

Ramandeep Singh to Axar Patel, ! THUMPED! Short of a length and outside off. Patel hangs back and pulls it over long on for a biggie. Can Delhi cross 160?

Ramandeep Singh to Kuldeep Yadav, Bangs a bouncer, on middle. Yadav looks to hook but gets a leading edge to third man for a single.

Ramandeep Singh to Shardul Thakur, ! CAUGHT! Ramandeep Singh gets a wicket! This is full and outside off. Thakur swings across but does not middle it. Hits it high and towards long on where Tim David positions himself near the ropes and takes it calmly.

Ramandeep Singh to Shardul Thakur, Wide! Tries the similar delivery but puts one over the tramline. A wide given. Riley Meredith had two overs but Rohit went with Singh.

Ramandeep Singh to Shardul Thakur, Length ball, angling across, outside off. Thakur swings wildly and misses.

Ramandeep Singh to Shardul Thakur, A length ball, slower and on middle. Thakur flicks it past square leg. Varma is in deep, and has to cover a lot of ground and saves a couple of runs.

Jasprit Bumrah to Axar Patel, A low full toss, around off. Patel drives it through covers for a brace. 6 runs and a wicket of this over. Another superb spell from Jasprit Bumrah. He ends with three wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah to Shardul Thakur, Full again and Thakur turns it to deep mid-wicket  for a single.

Jasprit Bumrah to Axar Patel, Fuller and on middle, it is pushed past the bowler for a single.

Jasprit Bumrah to Shardul Thakur, ! An excellent effort though from Dewald Brevis! Bumrah hits the hard length, around off. Thakur is cramped as he tries to block but it takes the shoulder of the bat and balloons over backward point. Dewald Brevis tracks back and stretches his left-hand out but fails to stick it. One run.

Jasprit Bumrah to Rovman Powell, ! TIMBER! Rohit asks for a wicket and Jasprit Bumrah serves him with one and that too a very big one. Another yorker from Bumrah, angling around off. Powell tries to sweep this without much conviction and the ball goes onto rattle the stumps. A timely wicket for Mumbai as it could make a huge difference of 15-20 runs in the end.

Jasprit Bumrah to Axar Patel, A yorker, in the blockhole. Patel somehow squeezes it out to deep square leg for a single.

Daniel Sams to Rovman Powell, 9 runs off the over then! A length ball, around leg. Powell clears his front leg and looks to go big on the leg side but misses and gets hit on the pads.

Daniel Sams to Axar Patel, Too full and on off, nudged to deep mid-wicket for a single.

Daniel Sams to Axar Patel, ! THUMPED! This is full and outside off. Patel hits it through the line as he lofts it over long off for a biggie. He can hit big ones too.

Daniel Sams to Rovman Powell, Really well bowled! A slower one, fuller, it is hit down to long on for one.

Jasprit Bumrah to Rovman Powell, ! The Powell power! Ends the over with a biggie and that somewhat spoils it! Still only 8 from it though. Bumrah looks to surprise the batter with a short one. Powell is up for it though as he rocks back and pulls it well over the square leg fence. He can take Delhi over the 160-run mark.

Daniel Sams to Rovman Powell, A huge appeal for LBW and not given! Rohit doesn't review it! Might be pitching outside leg! A length ball, on middle. Powell looks to flick but misses and gets hit on the pads.

Daniel Sams to Axar Patel, A full toss on middle, Axar works it through mid-wicket for one. Does the right thing by getting Powell on strike.

Daniel Sams to bowl now.

Jasprit Bumrah to Axar Patel, Shorter and on off, Patel guides it through point for one.

Jasprit Bumrah to Axar Patel, Three dots in 4 balls is gold at this stage! On off, this is pushed to mid off.

Ramandeep Singh to Rishabh Pant, ! EDGED AND TAKEN! Pant walks back! Ramandeep Singh went for 19 but he gets the huge, huge wicket of Pant and this could well make a difference of 15 runs to the final total. Not sure why Pant wanted to play at that one! He was actually in two minds. This is yet again well, well wide outside off. Pant looks to go after it but then tries to bail out, too late as it goes off the edge and to Kishan. Pant is disgusted as he walks back but that was a poor sh

Jasprit Bumrah to Rovman Powell, Powell somehow jams it out! A yorker on middle, Powell gets his bat down in time and works it through square leg for one.

Jasprit Bumrah to Rovman Powell, Yet another short one. On middle. Ducked under. Really good stuff from Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah to Rovman Powell, Good length and on off, Powell defends. Not going to be easy to get Bumrah away.

Axar Patel comes in.

Ramandeep Singh to Rishabh Pant, ! Over the fence! This is not good, just not good bowling. This is where Pant loves it. It is short and on the body, Pant pulls it over the fine leg fence for a biggie. 19 from the over and a ball to come.

Ramandeep Singh to Rishabh Pant, YET ANOTHER WIDE! This is turning out to be a long over. Delhi though won't mind all of this at all. This is short but way too short. Goes over Pant as he tries to pull. Wided.

Ramandeep Singh to Rishabh Pant, EDGY ! Delhi won't mind how they come as long as they do! This Ramandeep Singh over is proving to be costly. Not sure why Rohit turned to him. This is fuller and outside off, Pant slashes at it, it goes off the outside edge over short third man for a boundary.

Ramandeep Singh to Rishabh Pant, WIDE! Looking to bowl to his field, goes very wide outside off. Left alone. Wided.

Ramandeep Singh to Rishabh Pant, WIDE! Yet another wide! Looking to stay away from the arc of Pant but yet again bowls it very wide outside off. Left alone.

Ramandeep Singh to Rishabh Pant, ! Finds the boundary this time does Pant! A much-needed one from Pant! They would feel they need more! Outside off, fuller, this is carved over point for a boundary. Can this get Pant going now?

Ramandeep Singh to Rovman Powell, Just another single! Singles won't harm Mumbai! Shorter and on middle, this is pulled down to long on for one.

Ramandeep Singh to Rishabh Pant, Good stop by Sams! Shorter and on middle, this is hammered out towards deep square leg. Sams runs to his right and pushes it back in. Just the one.

Drinks! The stand between Pant and Powell crosses the 50-run mark and with just five overs remaining, Powell should unleash himself and score at a quick rate. The slower balls are working brilliantly for Mumbai and they will look to keep things under control in this last phase. Also, Ramandeep Singh to bowl now.

Daniel Sams to Rishabh Pant, Just the single to end! Another good over for Mumbai! On middle, Pant works it through mid-wicket and gets to the other end.

Daniel Sams to Rovman Powell, Confusion but safe in the end! Shorter and on off, this is guided to point. Pant wants a run, Powell is late in taking off. In the end the fielder misses his shy at the bowler's end. A single.

Daniel Sams to Rishabh Pant, Shorter and on the body, this is pulled through square leg for one.

Daniel Sams to Rovman Powell, Goes full now and on the pads, Powell looks to flick, this goes off the leading edge towards cover for one.

Daniel Sams to Rovman Powell, ! Really harsh to call that one a drop. Sams is lucky he did not hurt his hand really bad there. This is a slower one, on middle, it is smaked back towards the bowler. Sams sticks his left hand out. It hits the finger and goes down towards long off. The fielder dives to his right and saves two for his side. Good effort in the field.

Daniel Sams to Rovman Powell, WIDE! 100 up courtesy that extra! Short and down the leg side. Powell looks to pull but misses. The fifty-run stand is up too, a very important one but they need to go on. Can they take Delhi close to that 160-run mark?

Daniel Sams to Rovman Powell, Dots building now! Shorter and on off, a slower one. Comes very slow off the surface. This is guided to point.

Riley Meredith to Rishabh Pant, Yes, he can! Bowls a bumper, Pant ducks under it.

Riley Meredith to Rishabh Pant, Fuller and on off, Pant hits it hard but to mid off. He is disappointed, that was in the slot. Can Riley Meredith end the over well now?

Riley Meredith to Rishabh Pant, Third dot in the over! Length and on off, defended.

Riley Meredith to Rovman Powell, Good length and on off, Powell drops it towards cover and takes one. Good running. When boundaries are hard to come by, singles are important.

Riley Meredith to Rovman Powell, Short and this one skids through! Powell looks to pull but misses to get hit on the body.

Mayank Markande to Rovman Powell, Flatter and it is drilled down to long on for a single.

Mayank Markande to Rovman Powell, BYES! Boundaries are flowing freely now! Flighted ball, outside off, not much spin there. Powell looks to slog-sweep it but misses and Kishan fails to stop it. It races behind him for yet another boundary.

Mayank Markande to Rovman Powell, ! JUST OVER! Tossed up, around off. Powell hangs back and tries to heave it but the spall spins away and it goes off the splice and over the man at long off for a maximum.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rovman Powell, Flatter and around off. Powell nudges it to deep mid-wicket for a singe. 20 runs off the over.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rovman Powell, Wide! Tries to angle it more across and ends up serving it over the tramline. Left alone.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rovman Powell, ! MISFIELD! Rohit Sharma is not happy with the fielding! Angles this across, outside off. Powell looks to drive but it goes off the outside edge to short third man where Jasprit Bumrah misfields and concedes a boundary.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rovman Powell, ! HAMMERED! Floated ball, around off. Rovman Powell puts his skates on and heaves it over deep mid-wicket for a biggie. Second of the over. Hrithik Shokeen under pressure now.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rovman Powell, Quicker now, around off. Powell blocks it out.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rovman Powell, ! Delhi are changing gears! Not the best of delivery from Hrithik, serves it in the slot for Powell who slog-sweeps it over cow corner for a biggie.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rovman Powell, Wide! Way down the off side, wrong side of the tramline. Powell leaves it alone.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rishabh Pant, Shorter and on off, Pant hangs back an cuts it to deep point for a single.

Mayank Markande to Rishabh Pant, Around off, pushed through covers for a single. A single to end the over but it belongs to Delhi, 9 runs off it.

Mayank Markande to Rishabh Pant, ! MISFIELD! Drops it short, not that shot but still Pant goes for the pull shot. He hits it well towards deep mid-wicket where Tilak Varma makes a meal of it and lets it through for a boundary.

Mayank Markande to Rishabh Pant, Just short of the fielder! A loopy ball, around off. Pant drives it off the toe end and the ball goes uppishly and to covers where the fielder dives but it go past him. The man in the deep makes a diving stop and saves a couple of runs.

Mayank Markande to Rovman Powell, Quicker one, on middle. Powell flicks it past mid-wicket for a single.

Mayank Markande to Rovman Powell, Tossed up, full and spins away as well. Powell prods and defends with soft hands. He gets an outside edge and the first slip fielder catches it on a bounce.

Mayank Markande to Rishabh Pant, Shorter and spinning away from Pant, he cuts it to deep point for a single.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rovman Powell, A dot to end another tight over. On middle, Powell works it to mid-wicket. Going nowhere at the moment are Delhi but by looking at the wicket so far, 140 could be a good score here.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rishabh Pant, Shorter and outside off, Pant slaps it through covers for one.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rovman Powell, Fuller and on the pads, Powell works it through square leg for one.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rovman Powell, NOT ! Impact umpire' call and hitting too! Mumbai retain the review but sharp spin again. This lands outside off and spins back in. Powell looks to sweep but misses. It hits the pad. A huge shout but turned down. Reviewed. Replays show that the on-field call is the right one.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rovman Powell, That has turned and bounced! Flatter outside off, this lands, turns back in and takes off. Powell plays it close to his chest.

Hrithik Shokeen to Rishabh Pant, Two is the call but only one! Pant steps out and works this through mid-wicket. Only one.

Hrithik Shokeen is back into the attack.

Mayank Markande to Rovman Powell, Really well bowled again! This is tossed up on off, Powell lunges and keeps it out well.

Drinks! It is a must-win game for Delhi but it is Mumbai who are playing with full confidence. The pitch is on the slower side as well and Delhi have to be really careful in this middle phase. Mumbai though will look to continue taking wickets. Rovman Powell joins Pant to the crease.

Mayank Markande to Sarfaraz Khan, ! EDGED AND TAKEN! Delhi are 4 down now and just as a partnership was building, it has been broken. This is flatter, it lands outside off and then spins away. Sarfaraz Khan looks to guide it down to third man but it takes the outside edge and goes into the hands of Kishan. An appeal and the finger is raised. Khan walks down to his partner and has a chat but then starts walking back.

Mayank Markande to Rishabh Pant, The googly again, Pant waits and then guides it towards point for one. Good batting from him so far. 50 up for Delhi.

Jasprit Bumrah to Prithvi Shaw, ! TAKEN! Another one bites the dust and Delhi are pushed further on the back foot. This is a snorter! A short one and angled into the body. Shaw looks to sway out of the way but it is a little too quick. It hits his glove and lobs towards Kishan who runs in and takes it with a dive forward.

Jasprit Bumrah to Prithvi Shaw, That went through nicely! Shorter and on middle, Shaw looks to upper cut it but misses. Kishan leaps and takes it well above his head.

Rishabh Pant walks out to the middle.

Jasprit Bumrah to Mitchell Marsh, ! EDGED AND TAKEN! Bumrah strikes in his first over! The dangerous Marsh is out of here now! Delhi in deep, deep trouble in this must-win game. This is a beauty of a nut. It is a length ball, it lands on off and then moves away. Marsh pushes at it with hard hands. It goes off the outside edge low to the right of Sharma at first slip. He takes a good catch just above the ground.

Mitchell Marsh is the new man in. Also, Jasprit Bumrah is into the attack.

Jasprit Bumrah to Prithvi Shaw, On middle, this is pushed towards mid off for one.

Daniel Sams to David Warner, ! TAKEN! Warner goes for a low score, yet again! Sams is over the moon! This is a huge breakthrough. A win for them will change nothing on the table, they though have a chance to spoil Delhi’s party and they would love to do so. All to play for Delhi and we expect a cracker of a game.

Pitch Report - Danny Morrison is near the pitch, he says the boundaries are even as they are using the middle pitch. Adds that red soil will offer bounce and spinners will enjoy it as well. Tells that there is a little bit of live grass on it, but it's about getting the lengths right. Mentions the pace bowlers have to bowl at a Test match lengths and feels, the wrists spinners will come into play.

Delhi, with a win in their last game, managed to win two games in a row for the first time this season. However, they need to make it three in a row. The good thing for them is, Mumbai aren’t in the best of forms this season which probably means Delhi are favourites heading into this game. Mumbai however, can never be ruled out. Prithvi Shaw's availability is still a concern for Delhi while Mumbai will look to rest some big names and try out few more youngsters. Stay tuned for the toss and ot

A single.

Daniel Sams to Rovman Powell, Goes full now and on the pads, Powell looks to flick, this goes off the leading edge towards cover for one.
