New Delhi: Former Pakistan ODI cricket team captain, Shahid Afridi, who was once known for his hard-hitting on the pitch is now trying to hit boundaries for his country off the field.

Following the Uri attack by terrorists, which took the already sour relations between the two nations to an all-new level, Afridi took to micro-blogging site Twitter urging for peace between two nations. (READ: Shahid Afridi urges for peace amid war-like situation between India and Pakistan)

Afridi, who was recently invited on a cricket show in Pakistan, has now issued warning to the Indian army against attacking his country by stating that "Pathans are protecting the border ahead of the army."

He also called Pakistan a peace loving nation in one of the tweets, to which the twitterati just didn't hold back. (READ: Shahid Afridi calls Pakistan a 'peace loving nation', gets severely trolled by Twitterati)

Afridi isn't the only Pakistani batsman to add fuel to the bursting fire of war between the two nations, earlier Javed Miandad also made provoking statements. He advised his nation to attack India on a local news channel.

The Pakistani batsman completed 20 years of his debut for the country, in which he historically scored a record-breaking hundred off a scarcely believable 37 deliveries in Nairobi's Gymkhana Cricket Ground.

It took him 37 balls to get to three figures, 11 fewer than the previous record holder Sanath Jayasuriya.
