A Class 12 student committed suicide on Thursday after being harassed by a neighbour in New Delhi.

NEW DELHI: A Class 12 student committed suicide on Thursday after being harassed by a neighbour in New Delhi.
The accused, 20-year-old Mayank, would often stalk the girl who was a resident of Bakhtawar Pur. Upon objecting, the accused threatened to kill her parents.
The victim left a suicide note before taking the extreme step.
"She did it because a neighbour used to stalk her and also threatened to kill her parents. Also a suicide note has been recovered from the site," a relative said.

The police have launched an investigation into the case. “Efforts are on to arrest him (accused),” said DCP Rohini.
A case has been registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 306 (Abetment of suicide) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act in the matter.
Earlier this week, another Class 9 student of a private school, committed suicide by hanging herself. It has been alleged that the girl was disturbed because of alleged sexual advances by one of the teachers.
