Loveleen Tandon, the co-director of multiple Oscar-winning film "Slumdog Millionaire", says her most cherished moment was meeting the eight-year-old Pinki at the Academy awards.

New Delhi, Mar 18: Loveleen Tandon, the co-director of multiple Oscar-winning film "Slumdog Millionaire", says her most cherished moment was meeting the eight-year-old Pinki at the Academy awards. "We were ecstatic after the Oscar sweep. Walking on the red carpet with Slumdog Millionaire`s team was mesmerising. But for me meeting the little Pinki Sonkar was most cherished moment at the Oscars," Loveleen said in an interview.
Pinki, a village girl from Mirzapur became famous world over after her story of overcoming cleft-lip won an Oscar in the Best Documentary (Short) category. Tandon, who has earlier worked with Deepa Mehta and Meera Nair, is currently busy working on a script but is not ready to divulge much. "I`m working on a script that I want to direct in the near future," she said. Tandon`s contribution to "Slumdog Millionaire" has always been hailed by British Director Danny Boyle. She was roped in by him to do the casting in the Mumbai-based rags-to-riches potboiler, but was later promoted as the co-director. She not only discovered Azharudding Ismail and Rubina Ali from the slums of Mumbai to star as young Latika and Salim in the film but also contributed to the script by writing the Hindi dialogues.
