Mumbai: The Mumbai Police has clarified that they haven't trimmed the security cover of Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan or any other Bollywood personality.

The official Twitter handle of Mumbai Police has said, "There is no downscaling of existing personal security provided to film personalities".

There were reports that suggested that the Mumbai police have downgraded security arrangements for film actors.

According to a report in Indianexpress.com, Aamir was allotted additional security force when his controversial film ‘PK’ made headlines for all wrong reasons in 2014. He had also faced protests last year in November owing to his comments on the alleged rising intolerance in the country. While additional security arrangements were made for SRK in 2013.

Certain reports also suggested that after an assessment, Police officials felt that they the film stars no longer face any threat and hence the decision to trim their security cover was taken.

However, Mumbai Police has denied making any such changes to the existing personal security provided to film personalities.
