Kate Winslet brands 2008 ‘extraordinary’ year

Kate Winslet has had an ‘extraordinary’ 2008 after garnering critical acclaim for ‘Revolutionary Road’ and ‘The Reader’.

London, Jan 19: Hollywood actress Kate Winslet has had an ‘extraordinary’ 2008 after garnering critical acclaim for ‘Revolutionary Road’ and ‘The Reader’. The 33-year-old star has won two awards at the Golden Globes and has also been nominated in the leading actress category for both her films at the Baftas.
"I`ve been very lucky this year. I keep saying to people I can`t believe I got to play April Wheeler [from Revolutionary Road] and Hanna Schmitz [from The Reader] in less than a year. It`s extraordinary playing to such wonderful women," the Telegraph quoted her as saying.
The British actress also laughed off questions regarding her embarrassing Golden Globes acceptance speech, where while acknowledging her fellow nominees, the actress forgot the name of Angelina Jolie. She said she had been "shocked and overwhelmed" by winning two awards. "I just did not expect to win both of those awards and I`ve never won before so you can`t imagine how overwhelming that moment is," she said. ANI
