New Delhi: Famed yesteryear actress, Mumtaz has said that she is deeply saddened by the passing away of veteran star Dara Singh.
The actress, who has been cast with the wrestler-turned-actor in many movies, admitted that the sportsman was like a family member to her.
“What else can one feel when someone close passes away. I have so many memories of working with Dara Singh, but that was a long time ago,” she said.
“We knew that he was not keeping well, but what can one do, life is not in our hands," Mumtaz said.
Mumtaz and her industrialist husband, Mayur Madhwani, extended their condolences to the veteran’s wife in Mumbai on Friday.
The 64-year-old insisted that 2011 and 2012 have ‘not been good’ for the film industry with several prominent and celebrated artistes passing away including the evergreen star, Dev Anand.
The veteran actress, who now resides in London with her family, stays in close touch with colleagues from the film industry back in Mumbai.
