Mel Gibson, Meryl Streep and George Lucas named most generous

London: Mel Gibson, Meryl Streep and George Lucas have named among the most generous celebrities by a new poll of famous charity supporters.

The non-profit organization ‘The Giving Back Fund’ has compiled their fifth annual Giving Back 30 list, which honours the stars that have handed out the largest donations to charity. American actress Jami Gertz, who has helped donate a huge 6.2 million pounds through her husband Ressler Gertz’s foundation, has topped the poll. At number three is troubled star Mel Gibson, with 3.7 million pounds in charity handouts. Lucas is fourth and Streep is at eight, with 2.6 million pounds and 1.25 million pounds respectively. ANI
