Mumbai model gets police protection after receiving threats in alleged rape case

A Mumbai-based model who lodged a complaint alleging senior IPS officer Sunil Paraskar of sexual abuse has been placed under police protection. The model reportedly received threat calls after which the police had to provide her special protection.

New Delhi: A Mumbai-based model who lodged a complaint alleging senior IPS officer Sunil Paraskar of sexual abuse has been placed under police protection. The model reportedly received threat calls after which the police had to provide her special protection. The 25-year-old model has alleged that Paraskar, who is currently serving as the Deputy Inspector General ( Protection of Civil Rights), sexually assaulted her on several occasions, including once at a three-star hotel in Malad. The complaint was filed earlier this week with the Malvani police station. According to reports, the model has alleged that the molestation and rape took place between October and December last year when Paraskar was posted as additional commissioner of police, North region, Mumbai. Further details in the case are still awaited while the Police Commissioner is reported to have ordered a swift probe into the allegations.
