New Delhi: Ram Gopal has put up a tweet in defence of the offensive statement he had made on his account on the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi.
The director, who has been ridden with a string of flops recently, posted:
All tweets I put on Ganesha were in my usual manner but unintended by me to hurt anyone's sentiments...but if they did I sincerely apologize
— Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) August 29, 2014
Sparking an outrage Varma had posted that “The guy who couldn't save his own head from being cut , how he will save others heads is my question? But Happy Ganpathi day to morons!”
He later posted many more updates following the above -
Can someone explain how someone can cut off a child's head who was just trying to protect his mother's modesty? Am sure devotees know better

Did Lord Ganesha have a paunch in his childhood too or did it develop in the recovery time of the elephant head operation?
— Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) August 29, 2014
I would really love to know from Lord Ganesha's devotees a list of what obstacles he removed in all the years they prayed to him
— Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) August 29, 2014
BJP and VHP has asked for an immediate apology and action to be taken against Varma because it offended the religious sentiments of the Hindus.
Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with a lot of fervour in India, particularly in the state of Maharashtra.
