Bardem to play Captain Blackbeard in new `Peter Pan` film?

Los Angeles: Actor Javier Bardem has reportedly been offered the coveted role of the pirate Captain Blackbeard in the upcoming `Peter Pan` film.The 44-year-old star, who played James Bond`s villain in `Skyfall` is reportedly in negotiations to play the main baddie in `Peter Pan` movie as well, reported Variety.

British director Joe Wright, behind movies like `Atonement`,`Pride and Prejudice` and `Anna Karenina`, is in talks to direct an origin story about Peter Pan for Warner Bros. Bardem was recently seen in Ridley Scott`s `The Counselor` with wife Penelope Cruz, Michael Fassbender, Cameron Diaz and Brad Pitt. He will next star in `The Gunman` with Sean Penn and Idris Elba.
