Jackie Chan veers back to comedy in China

Jackie Chan, should have fewer problems with his current project, shooting now in southwest China.

Beijing, April 07: Jackie Chan, whose latest movie is too violent for Chinese censors, should have fewer problems with his current project, shooting now in southwest China.
"Big Soldier," a period action-comedy, stars Chan as an old fighter who abducts a young general (Wang Lee-hom) of an enemy state and takes him on a long journey to collect the reward.
It is being directed by Ding Sheng, whose first film "The Underdog Knight" was released in China in 2008. Chan`s latest release, the gangster thriller "The Shinjuku Incident," opened in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia on Thursday. It will open in Japan on May 1, but won`t get distribution in China because of its violent content. Bureau Report
