London: ‘Supergirl’ is reportedly adding Lucy Lane as a recurring character.

Lucy Lane will make her ‘Supergirl’ debut in the third episode, reported Digital Spy.

Lucy is the sister of Lois Lane, the ex-girlfriend of award-winning photojournalist Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), and the most recent person to have taken on the identity of Superwoman in the comics.

Lucy is said to be in her mid-20s to early-30s and has been described as being as "brash, funny and beautiful as her sister Lois, yet strong, smart and successful in her own right".

There's no word yet on who will be playing Lucy, who was previously played by Peyton List on The CW's ‘Smallville’.

Earlier this month, ‘Supergirl’ star Melissa Benoist spoke out about the early criticism of the show, which was compared to the "Saturday Night Live" Black Widow skit that featured Scarlett Johansson's heroine struggling with a broken heart and broken heels.

"There's so much more in the pilot that I think people are really going to be surprised by," Benoist said.

‘Supergirl’ is set to premiere on US television on October 26 on CBS.
