Regina King returns for 'American Crime' season 2

Los Angeles: Actress Regina King is the latest "American Crime" star to sign up for its second season.

The sophomore run of John Ridley's examination of race, religion and crime in America will tell an entirely new story, reported Variety.

Season one alumni Felicity Huffman and Timothy Hutton have already announced their involvement in season two, with confirmation now coming that King will be back as well. "American Crime" creator Ridley announced King's return: "Regina is phenomenal in all regards, and is going to be at the centre of a story that deals with physicality, sexuality, and societal boundaries with the same urgency as our first season dealt with race and faith.

"We've been blessed with the opportunity to speak on subjects as no other show does, and a cast which can do so with such a high degree of emotional honesty." King had a supporting part in "American Crime" first season as a woman whose conversion to Islam alienated some friends and family. "American Crime" was picked up for a second season by ABC in May.
