Mumbai: Delhi based designer duo Shantanu and Nikhil once again managed to surprise their audience and followers of their fashion with their spectacular new Bridge brand ‘S&N Drape’ the ‘Divonics’ collection for Summer/Resort 2011 at Lakmé Fashion Week. The ‘S&N Drape’ Divonics collection has been aimed at cocktail wear. The collection is a unique blend of Indian vintage designs intrinsically merged with contemporary silhouettes. It blends the casual and the glamorous look. Comprising of evening wear that beautifully move into formal and glamorous silhouettes such as dresses, gowns, saris, jumpsuits, bodysuits, tops and skirts in the western genre. The twosome had a wide range of choice to offer to their wearer. There has been a varied choice of fabrics that were used by the designers ranging from handlooms to modern textiles, fabrics like matka silk, brocade, tussore, chiffon, silks and jerseys have been used. The duo stuck to the earthy colour palette such as hues of grey, chocolate, beige and black for their line while the silhouettes were either structured or draped to give an elegant feminine touch to the ensembles. Tailored to the body, the texturing was amazing for the jackets, skirts, gowns and dresses. The fabrics have been used with such perfection giving them an almost leather like feel. The saris, were draped over corsets minus the petticoats, this made a dramatic statement. Finely crafted boleros added style to slinky bodysuits; while bronze treated brocade was ideal for slinky sheaths. Puff/long sleeved jackets, heavily beaded black mini skirts, jackets, and gowns were ideal Red Carpet choices. Shantanu and Nikhil have once again created the perfect collection for their line S&N Drape Bridge which goes amazingly for Indian market as well as makets abroad. Indeed their show which ended with a stark black jumpsuit with a glittering hood made the front row buyers applaud for them loudly. Hallmark of style with poise, the ‘S&N Drape’ label by Shantanu and Nikhil will score high on the fashion front!
