London: The latest James Bond movie 'Spectre' is facing a roadblock for a "protected" bridge scene in Rome as it is feared that it might damage the historic site.

A set source in Italy said that some campaigners are concerned about damage to the bridge, which dates from the 1400s, others are upset over the religious connection, the Mirror reported.

The source continued that the bridge is said to be haunted by the ghost of Donna Olimpia Pamphili, Pope Innocent X's lover who crossed it each night on her way to his bed and believers get quite upset by the prospect of disturbing spirits.

Culture minister Federica Galloni said the site is too delicate from an architectural point of view.

The movie will again star Daniel Craig as the British spy alongside Christoph Waltz, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Whishaw.
