Mary Elizabeth Winstead joins 'The Cellar'

Los Angeles: 'Faults' actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been cast in 'The Cellar'.

The 29-year-old actress will star opposite John Goodman in Dan Trachtenberg's microbudget thriller, reportedly. Trachtenberg is best known as the director of short fan film 'Portal: No Escape'.

Formerly titled 'Valencia', the film centres around a woman who wakes up after a car accident to find herself in a cellar with a man who claims the world has been devastated by a nuclear attack.

Trachtenberg was linked last year to the long-gestating adaptation of Brian K Vaughan and Pia Guerra's acclaimed comic 'Y: The Last Man'.Winstead will next be seen with Jeremy Renner in 'Kill the Messenger'.

'The Cellar' will begin shooting in the autumn.
