Mumbai: Buzz is that Yash Chopra’s 1969 thriller Ittefaq is all to set for a remake. The movie starring Rajesh Khanna and Nanda in lead roles in the semi-hit will now have Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha in the remake. Sid and Sonakshi will make a fresh pair with the movie.

Maintaining the crux of the movie, the original plot will get a twist in its storyline. The Baar Baar Dekho actor says, “It’s not exactly the same. The premise will be different although the gist is the same. It is still about one night but we have modified the script. Otherwise everyone knows what it’s all about and there would be no fun. All the characters here are motivated differently.”

The 1969 flick is an adaptation of the British film, Singpost To Murder, 1964. Despite being 60s movie, the running time was only 1 hour 45 minutes. Sid hinting at the running time of the remake said, “It will be a very short, quick film. We want to make it in a very thrilling manner- in two hours or maybe less than that if we can. That’s our plan”.

The murder mystery will be produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma Productions and BR Films as reported by BollywodLife.com, originally reported by DNA.

Sid who is currently shooting in New Zealand for his upcoming movie was last seen in Baar Baar Dekho and Sonakshi in the recent release Force 2.
