'Titli' an impactful film: Anurag Kashyap

Mumbai: Director Anurag Kashyap loved watching Kanu Behl's debut film "Titli" and is confident that the movie will make an impact.

The director convinced friend Dibakar Banerjee to produce the movie and was there to support it during the promotions.

"The content of Titli is so strong that it doesn?t need me, I need 'Titli'," Kashyap said at the launch of special web interviews- 'Anurag Kashyap Meets the 'Titli' family, which has been released on the digital platforms.

On being asked about promoting 'Titli' Kashyap said, "I have seen 'Titli' many times and it engages me every time. It is not a parallel film. 'Titli' is an impactful film, which people are going to see soon."
Banerjee said he was initially not sure about taking on the responsibility of a producer for their upcoming film "Titli" but Kashyap convinced him.

Produced by Banerjee and Yash Raj Films, the movie marks the debut of Kanu Behl.

"'Titli' had two producers before me, who wanted to produce it- Anurag Kashyap and YRF. This was much before DBP collaborated with YRF said Dibakar Banerjee. And I took it away from both of them," Dibakar said at the launch of the special web interviews to promote the movie.

"Initially, I was very scared to produce this film as I cannot handle my own film and this was a huge responsibility but Anurag convinced me to do it. Kanu and I are very critical with our work and that's when Anurag comes into picture with his positivity. He has been a complete moral support to the whole team," he added.

The movie, starring Ranvir Shorey, newcomers, Shashank Arora and Shivani Raghuvanshi, Amit Sial, and Lalit Behl, will release on October 30.Shorey, who plays one of the pivotal roles in the film said, "If you see these videos, you will understand why Anurag and Dibakar are such successful filmmakers of our generation. There aren't a lot of honest filmmakers in the industry and this is what makes this film different and special."

The movie is releasing in India following a positive response at international film festivals.
