Adele ‘to play at Olympics and get engaged this year’

London: Adele, who bagged six Grammy awards, is awaiting yet another glittering prize – an engagement ring.

Apparently the soul singer’s 37-year-old boyfriend Simon Konecki is planning to propose to her on her 24th birthday in May. The pair had announced that they were dating in January, after meeting a few months earlier. “Simon is so smitten that he’s also talked about popping the question as soon as her birthday in May. It falls over the bank holiday weekend so he may plan a trip away and do it then,” the Daily Star quoted Konecki’s pal as saying. However, this will not be the only ring on the singer’s mind over the coming months as she is being lined up to perform at the London Olympics in August. “She’s the biggest star in the world right now. She would undoubtedly add something special to the event. It would be really great to see her perform at the Games,” an Olympic source said. ANI
