I’m a ‘doormat’ when it comes to love, says Clooney’s ex Elisabetta Canalis

London: Elisabetta Canalis has spoken out for the first time after her split from Hollywood’s ‘most eligible bachelor’ George Clooney, and her comments may not exactly thrill her 50-year-old former boyfriend.

“I have always seen cold and controlled men as the right ones for me,” the Daily Mail quoted 32-year-old Italian TV host as telling Chi magazine. “You have to accept that Prince Charming who is coming to save you is not going to happen - it works against you. “I’m a bit of a tomboy, but when it comes to love I am a doormat,” she said. “I’m looking for men who can give me security. In the past I would self destruct when it came to love - I was immature, throwing myself into things but now times have changed, I want a relationship where you understand the other person,” she added. The pair broke up earlier this summer after almost two years together amid reports that she wanted more commitment from the actor and stormed out when he refused. However, she insists that she does take break-ups personally, no matter what the circumstances. “At the end of the day I have always seen the end of my relationships as a personal failure,” she said “There is nothing ever pretty is saying goodbye,” she added.
