Champions League: Juventus get the better of Porto with 2-0 win; Leicester fail Sevilla hurdle despite away goal advantage

New Delhi: Champions League continued with its second week action of the round of 16 stage, where Juventus got better of the portuguese club Porto to stun them 2-0 at an away clash. In the night's second game, Leicester City failed to cross the Sevilla hurdle and thus went down 2-1 at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but has an away goal advantage.

Juventus Vs Porto (2-0):

Juventus hit the field amid controversy over the suspension of Leonardo Bonucci for his ugly spat with club's manager. And thus their long awaited sruggle to get home the Champions League title, was once again at stake. Something that the Portuguese club could take advantage of. But all was not the same wen the whistle blew at kick-off.

With the early departure of left-back Alexis Telles in the 27th minute, Porto was struggling to take the ball over the half-line. Win seemed inevitable for the Italian club, however both sides went 0-0 to half-time.

It was the second-half of the game where Juventus dominance finally paid off. Substitue Marko Pjaca opened the scoring for Juventus in the 72nd minute. Pjaca shot back a deflected shot off Miguel Layun's foot to break the deadlock. Just two minutes later, another substitute, Dani Alves rifled his shot to find the back of the net and give the Old Lady a 2-0 away win.

Leicester City vs Sevilla (1-2):

Leicester was still suffering from the shock defeat to Milwall in the FA Cup encounter. Champions League is their only hope now. A hope for yet another miracle was what they expected. But the score concluded to a half-fulfilled wish.

Sevilla got their first opportunity within the first 10 minutes of the game. Kasper Schmeichel dived to the right to stop the penalty which Correa failed to convert. However, the home side came back in the 25th minute. Unmarked Pablo Sarabia headed in a cross form Escudero to make it 1-0 before half-time.

In the second-half, Correa got his chance to make it up to his earlier failed opportunity. He put it past the keeper to make it 2-0 and thus added on the concern for the Foxes. Minutes later, much to the surprise, Jamie Vardy made a move to put back a low cross from Danny Drinkwater giving the Foxes an away goal advantage. This was Vardy's first goal since December 10.

Post the game, former Red Devils defender Phil Neville said that it was Leicester's best game in this season.
