Gujarat Election Results 2017: Deodar

AHMEDABAD: Deodar is one of the 182 assembly constituencies of Gujarat. It is located in Banaskantha district. 

Chauhan Keshaji Shivaji of BJP won the seat in 2012 assembly elections with 76265 votes.

Gujarat recorded an estimated 68.70 percent voter turnout in the second and final phase of polling for 93 Assembly seats.

68 percent polling was recorded on December 9 in the first phase of polls in 89 Assembly seats in Gujarat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president-elect Rahul Gandhi are locked in a bitter, high-stakes political battle after a 22-year BJP reign.

The election in Modi's home state is crucial for the Congress and the BJP ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and is seen as a prestige battle for the prime minister, who was the chief minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014, and a litmus test for the opposition party's heir-apparent Rahul Gandhi.

A total of 50.25 lakh electorate, including 19 lakh women and 14 transgenders, will decide the fate of candidates.

The poll process in the state started on November 14 with the issue of the gazette notification for the first phase.
