VADODARA: Owing to the popularity of Malayalam actor Priya Prakash Varrier, Vadodara city police is looking to engage with the people and create awareness of safe driving. Using an illustration of the internet sensation, the police wrote, "Drive carefully, without distraction." The poster also had Priya's unmissable wink with a caption: 'accidents happen in the wink of an eye #TrafficEkSanskar". The poster since has gone viral with people applauding the police for being creative.

In another poster, it used the famous 'Hasina Maan Jayegi' song to draw the attention of people to harassment and stalking. "Harassment and/or stalking can make you a #SarkariMehmaan. The police goes by the tagline: 'Proactive. Positive. Progressive.'

The city police in the past too has used social media creatively to reach out to the younger audience. In an earlier campaign on safe driving, the police had written: "If you are driving and talking on your phone… #LetsCatchUp."

Along with Vadodara, Mumbai Police and the Bengaluru Police have been making headlines with their catchy phrases and youth appeal. Many of their campaigns on drinking and driving cyber crime have gone viral in the past.

The eighteen-year-old girl from Thrisshur in Kerala had made netizens go crazy after a short clip from the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi from Omar Lulu’s upcoming Malayalam movie Oru Adaar Love went viral on social media. The song sung by Vineeth Sreenivasan and composed by Shaan Rahman became popular but it was Priya who stole the show. In the video, Priya can be seen making adorable expressions and winking to grab her crush’s attention.
